Summer Art Programs

Art Center is thrilled to offer nine weeks of unique, child-centered programs throughout the summer of 2025!

Our programs are led by certified, experienced teachers who are experts in their fields. Meet the team HERE. We promote group learning at Art Center, where participants are emotionally, intellectually, and aesthetically engaged in solving problems. It is through creating and finding meaning, that each person grows through the ways of others! Each day will be filled with a variety of hands-on art activities, games, dramatic play, and team building. If weather permits, campers will have at least one hour of outdoor time. Participants will take walking field trips to various locations within the West Irondequoit community. All participants will receive an Art Center t-shirt, and pizza lunch on the last day! Children are expected to bring a water bottle and snack each day, and a lunch Monday-Thursday.

TIME: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm* (We do plan to offer a before/after care program this year, for an additional cost, and will email with additional information in the near future.)

Just for Teens Dates: June 30-July 3, 2025 Time:12pm to 3 pm Cost: $130 Suggested ages: 13-18

This program is designed as a studio experience for teenage artists. Over the course of four days, there will be lessons in drawing, painting, and mixed-media projects. Artists will be encouraged to set goals and explore their individual voice in their work.

Shark Week Dates: July 14-18, 2025 Time: 9am to 3pm Cost: $285 Suggested ages: 5-12

Come to Art Center for a week of ocean investigations and shark-tastic adventures. We will be learning all about the unique characteristics of different species of sharks, and gain a new appreciation for these fascinating creatures. The week will be filled with shark and ocean-themed art projects. Young artists won’t want to miss this deep dive into the underwater world of sharks!

Theater Arts Camp Dates: July 21-25, 2025 Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $285 Suggested ages: 5-12

Performance: July 25 @ 3pm

This program is specifically designed to introduce young children to the joys of theater arts, with a production at the close of each session. Children, between the ages of 5-12 years-old will explore basic acting skills. Each child will have a speaking role in a play, along with learning music and movement. Our facility is equipped with a small stage, perfect for your child’s earliest theater experiences!

Candy Land Dates: July 28 to August 1, 2025 Time: 9am to 3pm Cost: $285 Suggested ages: 5-12

Ready for a candy-themed art adventure? This week of art camp is sure to hit the spot! We will be taking an imaginary trip to a land where everything is sweet and anything is possible. Young artists will create colorful paintings of impossible worlds, help transform Art Center into a magical candy land, and even construct their own board games. It will be a sweet week to remember!

Jungle Book Dates: August 4-8, 2025 Time: 9am to 3pm Cost: $285 Suggested ages: 5-12

Okay, explorers….let’s head to the jungle and choose our own adventure! Jungle Book Art Camp will be part nature, part adventure, and part story telling! Participants will create tropical art and learn about the ecosystems of jungles on different continents. We will also make our very own books, filled with jungle-inspired themes, in a graphic novel/comic book style.

Little Pet Shop Dates: August 11-15, 2025 Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $285 Suggested ages: 5-12

Welcome animal lovers! This week will be spent exploring all things pet related. We will have a pretend veterinary clinic, adoption center, and create lots of art inspired by our lovable little friends. Participants will be making a plushie pet of their choice and bring it home in a hand-crafted carrying case.

Enchanted Castle Dates: August 18 - August 22, 2025 Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $285 Suggested ages: 5-12

Welcome to the most enchanting week of the summer! We will be constructing castles, and imagining a world of magic and mystery. Our artwork will be inspired by the dragons, wizards and knights that fill the halls of the enchanted castles! Young artists will love getting into character, as we make wearable art and wands. It will be a moat-ivating week for sure!

Carnival Craze August 25 - 29, 2025 Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $285 Suggested ages: 5-12

Join us for a week of carnival fun, and help transform Art Center into a game-filled attraction. Participants will construct their own games to share with the group. We will make art inspired by the bright colors and and sights of the carnival…think dancing animals, magic tricks delicious treats, and all kinds of characters!

Payment and Refund Policy:

● Participants will not be considered registered until all of the necessary paperwork and payments have been made.

● Registration fees (totaling $25) are non-refundable.

● Refunds will be granted (minus the $25 registration fee) in full, up to one week before the program start date.

● A 50% refund (minus the $25 registration fee) will be granted throughout the week before, and up to the day before, the program start date.

● After the start date, we will not offer refunds for any programs or events.

*We reserve the right to expel a child from camp, due to aggressive/threatening behavior or destruction of property. In this event, there will be NO REFUND issued. Hitting, kicking, throwing objects, making threats, or any other behavior deemed unsafe, will result in immediate expulsion for the duration of the program. By registering for camp, you are agreeing to pick up your child immediately if they engage in the behavior described above.
